Columbus Replica Ships

Taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather we are having this week, we took a field trip to Charleston, SC yesterday. There of course was the handy review of memory work, "In 1492, Columbus....".

It is amazing to consider how small these ships are and how many men and supplies they were carrying. God surely had his hand on Columbus's travels. Yes, Columbus was a flawed man and many have taken him to task with our modern sensibilities. Yet, he persisted when no other was willing to try. Thankfully, we know that God uses flawed men to accomplish His purposes!

While on our trip, we listened to The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth Speare. The final book for Elizabeth's Challenge A year! It is a fictional retelling of the time of Christ from the perspective of a Galilean boy. We have thoroughly enjoyed it so far and are looking forward to finishing it. I loved how it falls in the CC ChA schedule! Just in time for Easter contemplation.

We are winding up our papers on Crispin. Elizabeth and I are doing ours separately. I haven't seen hers yet and she hasn't seen mine! We will work on them some over the weekend.

The wisteria and crab apples are blooming as well as our noses!
